Since 1926, Stautzenberger College has been helping those in the Toledo area with career training to get the job they want. An age-blended student body can choose training to reach career goals in Animal Sciences, Business, Paralegal, Skilled Trades, and 14 Medical programs. (Full list is below.) If you don’t know what you want to do, meet with an admissions representative at Stautzenberger’s Arrowhead Park Campus. They will help you determine where you want to be and make a plan to get there. “We try to get them into the right area and help them find something to match their lifestyles,” shared Amy Beauregard, President.
The Student Body
Popular programs vary by the age of the student. Animal Sciences are the most popular with younger students. A popular program with the Mid-lifers is Addiction Counseling Technician. “Each student has an interesting story of why they choose Addiction Counseling,” said President Beauregard. She continued, “The average age is 28-35 for the Trades. These students have experience and want certification. There are so many opportunities! Our fully-online associate’s degree Construction Management is an excellent option for experienced trades workers. HVAC and Welding are also very popular. Masonry is an exciting new option created due to community demand. We get the ideas from our program advisory committee.”
Whether you are just out of high school or have been in the workforce and want to make a change, Stautzenberger College could be the perfect fit for you. The college offers flexible class schedules and online courses to fit work and family schedules. Rolling admissions offers new courses starting every five weeks. Online general education makes scheduling easier for working adults.
Real-Life Learning
Courses are hands-on. “You’ll not be sitting in a classroom and learning theory. For example, in the Vet Tech labs, we bring in animals from shelters and complete exams, surgeries, and immunizations (at no charge to the shelters). This is followed by externships for even more experience. This is valuable to employers. We do very well with job placements.” said President Beauregard.
Moving Toward Your Goal
In response to the pandemic lockdown, all courses have been online recently. Stautzenberger has not announced its plans for future in-person classes but looks forward to reopening the campus for labs and hands-on learning. Stautzenberger also has a satellite location in South Toledo and a branch location in Brecksville, near Cleveland.
Life gets busy, and a career change may seem impossible. Fortunately, your career goal can be taken in steps. Short-term diploma programs can lead into degree programs.
Current Demand = Current Programs
As a leader in the local career-training field, Stautzenberger continuously evaluates the programs offered, their curriculums, and the local job market. New and updated classes are always in works. Twice a year, syllabi are reviewed by the Program Advisory Board. The board volunteers suggest content and materials based upon their hiring needs. Regular contributors include Promedica, The Toledo Clinic, M&M Heating, local veterinary hospitals, and other community leaders.

Arrowhead Park
Stautzenberger has been located in Arrowhead Park since 2007. President Beauregard described it as “A beautiful park, a well-maintained safe area and near major highways. It’s a win to be here.” It’s no surprise that Food Truck Wednesdays is a campus favorite. “Our students walk over or and instructors and staff go by the carload. It’s very popular!” said President Beauregard.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Stautzenberger’s Admissions team can help you find options from several available resources: grants, loans, and scholarships. Also, the staff partners with every student to develop clear, effective job search strategies.
Programs Offered
The most popular programs include Animal Sciences, Medical Sciences (Association and Diploma), and HVAC. Hands-on training and externships provide real-life experience to students making them more valuable hires. “We can’t graduate Nursing students fast enough,” shared President Beauregard.
