What is Program Solutions Group? Essentially, Program Solutions Group (PSG) is a tight-knit team of design and construction professionals who assist their clients in identifying, planning and managing their construction needs from initial concept to completion. PSG is NOT a general contractor, architect, or real estate brokerage firm. Rather, they are advocates for client companies’ construction projects, bringing their expertise to the table while acting as an extension of their client. “We offer a unique blend of traditional Construction Management Services and Owner’s Representation. This approach has evolved over the years based on our experience and has become the preferred model for many of our Clients” states Jason Mason, Vice President. PSG focuses on providing owner-directed construction programs for any type of project their clients are facing, mostly for industrial, commercial, retail, and institutional projects. “The team has diverse experience on both the contractor-side and the owner-side” Keith Recknagel, President, shared. “It makes us well rounded because we know both sides.”
Program Solutions Group tailors custom solutions for their client’s real estate programs. Keith Recknagel proudly noted, “every project has at least one, if not two, partners involved, providing a wealth of experience and expertise”. “PSG differentiates from our competitors by offering complete transparency, as most of our projects are completely open book,” said David Kreienkamp, Director of Design Services. “Our clients see exactly where their money is being spent as we guide them through the construction process” Dave added. PSG’s mission is to fulfill their client’s interests and objectives through continuous open communication and the highest ethical standards.
“Construction Management is a discipline and management system specifically created to promote the successful execution of capital projects for owners. These projects can be highly complex. Few owners maintain the staff resources necessary to pay close, continuing attention to every detail–yet these details can ‘make or break’ a project.”
Construction Management Association of America
The company’s goal is to become the construction and owner representative of choice in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan but they never want to lose their personal touch.
PSG has completed projects across the United States and Europe for industrial, corporate, and commercial clients with projects ranging in size from enormous industrial production/warehouse facilities to small tenant fit-outs in retail centers. PSG’s goal is to continue to focus on serving its core clients with care and grow slowly and naturally through referrals.
Recent Projects
Recent projects include several in Arrowhead Park. The build-out of new facilities for Sanyu USA, its next-door neighbor, is the latest project completed. Program Solutions Group has also been involved with:
- The Gilmore Jaison Mahler remodel (a night & day change!)
- The Toledo Area Humane Society facility on Ford St.
- Owens Community College (the Maumee campus)
- Stautzenberger College
- Endevis RPO
- Numerous projects for Tomahawk Development
- The 1.2 million sq. ft. First Solar facility in Lake Township
- Rossford Schools (Elementary & 6-12 Buildings) District Offices and Stadium
- Lourdes University
- Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania
- Kripke Enterprises on Central Avenue
- Dana Corporation
PSG has completed projects all over the world, but they feel right at home in Northwest Ohio.
Some of their favorite projects have been for the Sisters of St. Francis in Sylvania, and when asked about one of the most unique projects PSG has worked on, Keith noted the recent Dana Test Track in Maumee. “You can see it from US 23, next door to the Dana headquarters. It’s a one-of-a-kind project!”
Location

The unpretentious home office for PSG is in a quiet corner of Arrowhead Park at 1718 Indian Wood Circle. While the office comfortably fits their seven employees, rarely will you find most of them in as they are regularly out on sites and visiting clients. PSG moved to Arrowhead Park about 6 years ago from an office location in Perrysburg. “We love it here. We’re centrally located to all clients with access to US-23, I-75, and I-80 and have many amenities and restaurants nearby” shared Jason.
History

Program Solutions Group was formed in 2004 by President Wayne Burrer, after a successful 20-year career in construction management with both construction and corporate firms. Wayne knew there was a need for the expertise of a facility’s construction staff, as firms invest heavily in construction projects, yet these same firms didn’t always have a long-term need or the desire to add permanent staff. Program Solutions Group was founded to fill that gap, serving as an extension of our client’s team to envision, plan, and manage capital construction projects. Keith Recknagel joined Program Solutions Group in 2005, bringing his comprehensive construction management abilities to the firm. Together, Wayne and Keith established many of the firms’ processes and procedures while carefully choosing additional team members. Dave Kreienkamp and Jason Mason were named Partners in January 2013.
