Construction Update from ODOT
For those who travel the area regularly, it’s no secret that construction is well underway on the I-475 widening project between the River and Airport Highway. As you’re traveling through the area, maybe you have noticed the foundations beginning for the new diverging diamond interchange at US 20A. The traffic pattern for this phase of work began in late November and is expected to continue for one year. This included closing the ramp from westbound US 24 to northbound I-475.
-
Widen I-475 to three lanes in each direction between State Route 2/Airport Hwy. and south of U.S. 24
-
Construct new diverging diamond interchange at U.S. Route 20A/Maumee Western Rd. with IR-475
-
Resurface U.S. 24 between the I-475 interchange and 2000’ west of Dutch Rd.
What can folks expect to see this winter into spring? By the end of January, the deconstruction of the I-475 bridge over Monclova Road and the railroad tracks will begin, making way for the construction of the new northbound bridge throughout the spring and summer. Lane restrictions on Monclova Road will start the week of January 23 to kick off this effort. Paving the new northbound lanes will start when asphalt plants open in the spring. A 4-month full closure of US 20A is necessary to construct the bridges of the diverging diamond interchange, which will begin in July 2023. (Project Page) If you have questions or comments about the project, you can contact the ODOT Public Information Office at 419-373-4428 or email d02.pio@dot.ohio.gov.

Brondes Ford Maumee
Arrowhead Park’s Featured Business of the Month From the expressway, the all new Brondes Ford Lincoln of Maumee dealership lights up the night sky. The blue LED lights that shine on the back of the building are an attention-getter, especially when it is foggy. On the inside? You’ll see both a spacious showroom and expansive service facilities. What will you feel? A uniquely positive working environment the Brondes team has spent years cultivating. “I am so happy to be a sales manager at this incredible dealership,” shared Tim Ramsey, New Car Sales Manager since 2005. “The employees and management team are so good to work with. We retain our employees and haven’t even hired a new salesperson in two years. “ Brondes Ford began with the franchise on Secor Road in the early 1950s. In 2000, Ford Motor Company closed the downtown ‘Quality Ford’ and offered Phil Brondes a franchise for Maumee. The new dealership moved into what used to be the Hatfield Oldsmobile location on Reynolds at Dussel. Over the years, the company found that the landlocked property was limiting growth. In 2019 Brondes moved to the new site in Arrowhead Park, allowing them room to grow. “The 10 […]
