Stautzenberger College Makes Student "Externs" Available to Arrowhead Park Businesses

The Stautzenberger Externship program is designed to provide an opportunity for hands-on application of the skills and knowledge students have acquired throughout their coursework at Stautzenberger College.

The Stautzenberger Externship program is for student completing coursework in:

• Accounting
• Banking, Investment & Finance
• Business and Entrepreneurial Management
• Digital Media Administration
• Office Administration

Externship students receive college credit for spending 180 hours learning the real life, day-to-day workings of a business office.  The externship is designed as an opportunity for hands-on application of the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the coursework at Stautzenberger College. Direct supervision of the extern is provided by the Business Manager throughout the entire externship, with the extern completing tasks for evaluation, and final responsibility for all work resting with the Business Manager. 

The work performed by the extern can encompass any or all skills acquired through the student’s coursework. Externs should expect to be logistically and creatively challenged. The externship site is expected to provide work relevant to the program.

The externship site provides the facilities and staff to help train the extern in the practical application of the skills they have received in the classroom.  The Business Manager and selected members of the site evaluate the extern’s performance during the externship and provide progress reports. Each student’s will be provided with a unique experience since each business office is different.

Stautzenberger College is always looking for new externship sites in order to broaden the students’ opportunities. Stautzenberger is currently looking for opportunities for students in entry level business and information technology positions.
