APA Member Company To Host August Charity Fundraiser

Hanson, Inc., will host the fourth annual Dealin' for Dogs fundraiser on Saturday, August 22, with proceeds to benefit the Swanton-based Assistance Dogs of America. The event begins at 7:00 pm and features casino games, music, food, an auction, raffle, and prizes. For more information, visit the web site of Assistance Dogs of America.

Company Tells Workers To Stay Home Fridays

APA member Spring Valley Architects has its employees staying home on Fridays this summer, telecommuting and avoiding the orange barrels lining Dussel Drive and the nearby expressway.

SVA President Adam Kral says "by working from home, we reduce gas and carbon emissions for the day, as well as saving energy by having the office closed."

Employees access their business documents via a virtual network and use cell phones and email to maintain contact with customers.
